IM leaving the 2013 results up until I have some info from this years show.
WOW..Day number 1 done and over with 114 thru the gate. Friday show to start at 8AM with the BH Memorial Derby not to start before 12PM. If you were here in Perry you know what the Barn Party was like on Thursday night, from all the food and the baby bottle drinking contest, you had to be there. More update to follow, if I get the time !!! Its 2 weeks later and Im finally ready to do a show update for the show. Please remember all scores are not THE OFFICIAL scores tabulated by the show office. Scores posted by TEM are from the announcer and not verified by the show. So be kind if I make a mistake.
The BH Memorial Derby on Friday night had a total of 30 np and 27 Open riders completing the class. As you can see, above right, Laura Holcomb riding Cruisin On Chrome finished with a score of 148 for a multiple class win in L3O,L2O and L10 for the owner Margaret Sanders from Broad Run VA. Her multiple win for Margaret was good enough for a check well over $2447.00 One Mighty Aphrodite and Peter DeFreitas for Double Run Farm were high steppin right into a score of 148.5 for a Win in the L4O division. The score for Peter was good enough for a paycheck of over $2049.00. Dont think not posting a stop image of Peter wasnt available, I thought the roll back pic was pretty snappy.
In the NP division of the Derby, the action had to be shared as Kim Tillman and Bonnie Hippenstell both scored a 143.5 on each of their rides, splitting prize money and awards. Both ladies shared honors in the L4NP and L3NP division as Bonnie riding Red Stripe Spook took the Prime Time as well. Kim Tillman riding Custom Crackerjac also took the L2NP division as well.
In the Open division at The 2013 EPRHA Slide Into Summer this past weekend in NJ. With Jerry Coleman riding for Denise Hopkins Santagata, saturdays Open was very exciting. With a host of riders scoring in the upper 140’s there was no telling where the top placing horses would finish. EPRHA also had its first ever Free Style during the show, the turnout was great and it was well received by the crowd and will probably be on next years schedule as well. If you missed any of this action it was available to watch on Web Cast right here on the Team Extreme Media web site. Check the EPRHA web site for class information and show updates.
How about this.. During the most recent Short Stirrup class in Perry Ga this past weekend… The cutest rider who happened to be 5 years of age.. just did what comes natural. She happened to blow a kiss to the judge while she passes by. Now Im not sure if it was directed for me, but the judges in the pen were quite younger than I. Everyone did score 75’s so everyone came home a winner and the prizes were many. I wonder if the NRHA may have to get rid of the Mens and Ladies classes due to the Gender Issue, who cares LETS RIDE!!!!
Mother Nature did its best to keep everything as wet as possible during the 4 day event here in Murfreesboro TN in May. The weekend was high lighted by the running of the VBC/Spinnin In The Rein Derby. Top honors go to Mark Turner riding Starbucks Lads Fifty for Thomas Smith from Lebanon TN. Scoring a 142.5 was good enough to capture all the open aged divisions. Chris Hull riding Nu Magnum Chex for Backus Quarter Horses from Alcoa TN scored a 140 to take all Levels, 4,3,2 of the Cat 6 Open Class. On the Non Pro side Kyle Johnson riding Double N Down for himself scored a 143.5 to win L4,L3 and in Cat 6 L4 and L3. Winning the L2 Non Pro as well as the L3 and L2 Cat 6 class was Nancy Ride aboard Bantam Rooster riding for herself.
THE 2013 DRHA REINING SEASON GOT OFF TO A GREAT START, WITH OVER 250 RIDERS THRU THE GATE IN THE 3 DAY SHOW AND THE DRHA AWARD BANQUET ON SATURDAY NIGHT, EVERYONE WAS FAIRLY BUSY.

Although the heat was to say a little sticky, the American Ranch Horse Associations World Show and competition in Murfreesboro Tn. Without a doubt the turn out was nice and the show ran as well as to be expected but all riders kept themselves as cool as they could and on tract during the warm spell that weekend. Many cudos go to all people who battled the heat during the week !!!
