PHOTO / VIDEO SHOOT PARAMETERS
There are several things a farm or ranch can do in order to speed things along in order to get as much production value as possible. Here are a few thoughts to follow….
1. Have all horses that are to be photographed in show condition. Create an assembly type line for the horses, as we finish with one horse, the next one can be next in line for us in order to work our time most efficiently. Have as many things done in advance as possible, cleaned and bathed, weather permitting, trimmed and in general excellent looking condition. If the shoot location determines to be a hard surface, you may want to consider cleaning and painting hooves. Try to have all the people who are included in horse prep aware and up to speed with an overview of the operation so we can establish a nice work flow.
2. It is recommended that a handler or groom from the farm be available to have horses ready and waiting if a multiple horse shoot is planned. It may be necessary to use the services of groom or handler if needed in standing or handling horses. Please let us know if a handler is NOT available for the session.
3. Leather or a show halter is recommended during the shoot. In this case the more silver on a show halter is not advisable. If a bridle and reins are to be used, they should be in reasonably new condition and look as such.
4. Location of photographs may be taken specifically and arranged by the photographer and may require site prep, ie grass cutting or general clean up if desired. Providing a desired location, the farm or ranch should be in nice visible condition, with grass cut as well as fencing or other items in general nice looking condition. If images are to be interior or landscape type photographs, all areas should be free of debris and in eye pleasing condition.
All of these items are important to consider to insure a problem free and very productive media session.
